Custom Resin Ocean Wall Art Project Case Study

Custom Resin Ocean Wall Art Project Case Study

In early January, we received a commissioned art job to help our client design a fully handcrafted wall art piece measuring 80cm × 100cm. She wished to hang it in the living room before celebrating Chinese New Year. Our client is a family-oriented person who chose 2 big seals and 2 small seals. These represent a harmonious family, symbolising kids being well guided by their dad and mum. In order to present the family's prosperity, the wide sea flows into the river to indicate wellness flowing into the home.

Q1: What makes Lasprecious Design different from other resin artists?
Unlike most resin artists who use acrylic paint to simulate depth, Lasprecious Design uses real sand in the innermost layer of every piece. This creates genuine physical depth across the sea layers, giving each artwork a texture and dimension that paint alone cannot replicate. This sand-base layering is our signature technique.

Q2: What is our custom commission process?
Every commissioned piece goes through two creation stages. First, we produce a draft design and send it to the client for approval. Once approved, we move into hands-on production — translating the approved sketch into the physical artwork. We observe and make adjustments throughout to ensure the final piece faithfully reflects the original vision.

Q3: What materials do we use for your resin wall art?
We use solid pine wood as the base, sourced through our carpentry partner. Solid wood is chosen specifically because it can bear the additional weight of sand used in the innermost layer. The layers above include resin ocean water, wave detailing, and miniature elements, all built up progressively over the curing timeline.

Q4: Do we offer installation services?
Yes. Once the resin work is completed, our trusted carpentry partner takes over to drill the wall hook and carry out full installation at the client's home. They bring a complete set of equipment including a levelling tool to ensure the piece is hung correctly. We keep hook drilling as the final step because resin work must remain on a flat surface during curing to prevent leakage.

Q5: What sizes are available for custom resin wall art?
We create fully custom pieces tailored to the client's space. A recent commission measured 80cm × 100cm, designed to serve as a statement piece in a living room. Size is discussed during the design consultation stage.

Every piece we create begins with a conversation and ends with something that truly belongs to your home. From the first sketch to the moment your wall art is level on the wall, we are with you every step of the way — bringing the same care, precision, and heart into every layer of sand, resin, and wave detail. We craft a piece of your story, one that your family will walk past every day and feel the meaning behind it. If you have a vision, we would love to help you bring it to life.
